Introducing Lisa Chanesman (O’Hara)
Considered a leading migration law practitioner and Fellow of the Migration Institute of Australia (FMIA), Lisa holds a Masters of Migration Law and Practice and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, and is recognised by the industry and academia as a leading expert and educator on migration legislation and policy.
Lisa convened and lectured into the Australian National University’s Graduate Certificate in Migration Law program from 2009 to 2016, then was head-hunted to develop and implement the Graduate Diploma in Migration Law program for the Australian Catholic University. This was ACU’s first online graduate law program.
In addition, due to her well-regarded knowledge, Lisa is an experienced and accomplished CPD presenter and member of various key reference groups, industry ‘think tanks’ and regularly provides assistance to fellow migration law practitioners.
Lisa accepted an appointment by The Hon Jason Wood MP Minister for Customs, Community Safety and Multicultural Affairs to the Migration Advice Industry Advisory Committee until November 2021.
